About Arturo Laime

Arturo Laime is a Peruvian artist based in the German Black Forest who works mainly in painting, mixed media and sculpture. His expressionist artwork has elements of Latin American magic realism. In his work he reflects on issues of social justice and the importance of protecting places with a rich diversity of life forms.

He studied Fine Arts at the Sachs Art Institute in Lima. Since then he has been working as a full-time artist, presenting art projects, teaching art techniques & creativity in workshops, and selling his work from his studio & galleries.

From 2006 to 2013 he founded & directed Amazon Action, an organisation focused on eco-social initiatives in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest.

Arturo moved to Germany in 2013 and lived in Frankfurt am Main for the first 7 years. In 2020 he moved to Gernsbach, in the northern Black Forest, where he has since directed and participated in numerous artistic and cultural projects.

During his career he has had several exhibitions in America and Europe and has been featured in major media. His work is part of public & private collections on 4 continents.

When not in the studio, he enjoys working out at the gym and walking to find inspiration in his beloved Black Forest.

I work as an artist to inspire people around the world to value and protect Biodiversity and the human communities around it.
