Until one has loved an animal a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.
About the Series:
One of the happiest moments of my life was when I worked surrounded by wild animals in the Amazon jungle. It was an amazing experience that touched me deeply. For an animal lover like me, it was like living in paradise. When I returned to civilization I missed that close contact and spent time learning about wildlife affairs in Amazonas and other biodiverse places of the world.
Almost everyone likes animals, but many times they are seen as distant beings without any connection with us. Life in the city puts us in more contact with objects than with living beings. However, at a symbolic level, animals are magnificent beings that speak directly to us. Many of us identify with some of them and humanize their characteristics to illustrate aspects of our lives. Not in vain it’s said that someone is “strong as a bear” or “fast as a gazelle”.
The animal kingdom is in a risk situation. Poaching, ecosystem pollution, and the abuse of a growing population of humans have reduced the number and diversity of animal species. This painting series is made with the desire to bring animals closer to the viewer, showing the fauna differently through collage and mixed techniques.
