We only protect what we love. Through art workshops focused on biodiversity, many people can learn about the wonders of the natural world and have a unique experience that leads them to become actively involved in preserving the life forms of our planet. Art always inspires change in society. Let’s be part of this change.
Short Programms for Organizations and groups
PHYTOLOGY / ASSEMBLAGE WORKSHOP
ORGANIC ARTWORK
Using raw materials gathered from the wild, like leaves, branches, vegetable and mineral pigments, we will create works of art inspired by local folklore stories. In the process, we will catalogue our materials and review the topics of plant physiology, photosynthesis and morphology, as well as the important relationship between plants and soil.
Adults & 10+

RECYCLING / COLLAGE WORKSHOP
MASTERPIECES WITH RECYCLED MATERIALS
For this workshop, we will find inspiration in the great works of art of our history. We will choose our favourite artwork and create a new version using recycled materials. We are going to learn about the origins of the recycling process, the main types of recyclable materials, the cost-benefit of these processes, and the current issues involving non-biodegradable materials.

GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE / PAINTING WORKSHOP
TRIBAL: MYTHOS FROM THE FUTURE
This workshop is inspired by the art created by ancestral communities. Just as they recorded important scenes and events from their history, we will use the aesthetics and materials of tribal painting to reflect on the challenges that our planet faces in the present and in the future. What dangers await us? Which creative solutions will we discover? How could we achieve a society with an infrastructure that promotes life? The answers will be depicted in our artworks for the posterity.

SPECIES CONSERVATION / MIXED MEDIA WORKSHOP
REMEMBERING THE AGES OF EXTINCTION
In this workshop, we will review the past and present extinctions of our planet. We will learn the different causes of extinction of living beings through the geological record, and we will “bring back to life” these magnificent beings using mixed media techniques. Each participant will create a work of art based on an ancient and on a recent extinction.
Adults & 13+
4 – 6 Hours

ECOSYSTEMS / MINIATURE MODELLING WORKSHOP
SMALL NATURAL LANDSCAPES
In this workshop, we will build small-format DIORAMAS (three-dimensional models), inspired by the ecosystems of our planet. We will learn what is an ecosystem, how it differs from a habitat or landscape, and the main actions that are necessary to preserve our local ecosystems. Each one of us has a paradise. Through a miniature model, we will share our paradise with friends and the community.
Adults & 8+

LOCAL BIODIVERSITY / POP-UP CARDS WORKSHOP
GREETINGS FROM THE WILD
There’s no better gift than the one made by ourselves. With simple materials, such as cardboard, paper and colours, we will create pop-up cards inspired by local or regional natural landscapes. These three-dimensional cards will deliver a message of love and nature conservation to the special people in our lives.

BIODIVERSITY HOTSPOTS / ACRYLIC PAINTING WORKSHOP
MEGA DIVERSITY WITH ABSTRACT PAINTING
Using fluid techniques with acrylic paint, we will create abstract works of art inspired in different areas of great biological diversity on our planet. We will learn what a biodiversity hotspot means, what are the examples of hotspots in the world as well as why it is so important to preserve them. The exercise with abstract painting allows us to find new meaning to what we see.
Adults & 10+
3 – 4 Hours
Available
HABITAT FRAGMENTATION / COLLAGE & MIXED MEDIA WORKSHOP
FRAGMENTED LANDSCAPES & MEMORIES
Using collage and mixed media, we will create pieces of art that reflect on the phenomenon of habitat fragmentation and ecosystem decay in the present world. What exactly causes loss of biodiversity? How our landscapes had changed in the last one or two millennia? This detective work will bring new awareness to all the participants.
Adults & 13+
2 – 4 Hours
Available
BALANCED ECOSYSTEMS / PAPERCUTS WORKSHOP
PAPERCUTS: HEALTHY ECOSYSTEMS
Using just light and paper, we will create beautiful images of healthy ecosystems around the world. We will learn what factors influence the well-being of living organisms in a given habitat. On a personal level, this exercise will show us how art helps to achieve balance and health in our lives.
Adults & 8+
2 – 4 Hours

ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS / PAINTING WORKSHOP
PAINTING A NEW FUTURE
In this workshop, we will use art as a vehicle to explore ideas that could solve today’s world problems. What new lifestyle could our societies embrace? What new inventions do we need? Which changes could help our planet? The boundary between artist and inventor has always been blurry.
Adults & 8+
3 – 5 Hours

POLLUTION / UPCYCLING WORKSHOP
UPCYCLED TOYS
Inspired by the creativity of the poor communities of our planet, we will make toys using common materials such as bottles, containers, metals and plastics. We will learn how pollution affects small developing communities, and how can we help them. These upcycled toys will be a gift of love for our children, our family or for our own space. As children of poor communities know, a real toy unlocks the mind.
Adults & 10+

BIOLOGICAL REPRODUCTION / BOOKBINDING WORKSHOP
SEX IN THE WILD: THE ACCORDION BOOK
Using the old Japanese Orihon technique, we will create an accordion book where we will tell stories of love, sex, lust, paternity and affection in the world of living beings. What differences and similarities exist between all of us? How the sexual instincts of other living beings are reflected in us? We will review concepts like natural selection, types of reproduction, mating, sexual strategies and diversity.
