Sierra Nevada Forest is a painting about the natural wonders of protected areas in Europe. As a Spanish descendant, I have been always interested in the landscapes of my ancestors. Sierra Nevada National Park is located in Granada and Almería provinces in south-eastern Spain. 2,100 plant species have been cataloged in the park. One of the most appealing aspects of this park is the incredible peace and quiet. I’m interested in the amazing colors of the forest at sunset, and the emotion that this landscape evokes. I used I grounded the painting with a mix of plaster and dry leaves. then I applied acrylic paint in a loose, expressionistic way.
